Last month I had the pleasure of working with a client on her son’s Bar Mitzvah, namely a YANKEES themed Bar Mitzvah! Something to know about me – I am a DIE HARD Yankees fan, so planning & designing this party was like a dream come true! My clients knew from day one that it would be a baseball themed event so from start to finish we tied the theme in anywhere that we could. It was a fun filled weekend for family & friends coming in from out of town, and the hosts ensured that everyone enjoyed themselves. Check out some of the images that were captured by Sherman Charles of Charles Photography LLC.
Out of town guests were given some great welcome bags filled with some fun goodies, some locally made!

The day started with the actual service along with a kiddush luncheon held at the temple. The décor was simple, yet stunning. Later on that night, all the kids, and some adults, were invited to the Westin Hotel in Princeton, NJ for the real fun! For the cocktail hour, we kept it simple with a mix of cocktail rounds in varying heights and mixed the colors of red & blue on the tables. Then we added containers filled with foiled chocolate baseballs & peanuts in the shell, and then we added pennants from different teams to give it the baseball feel.
For the escort cards, we played up the baseball theme by creating baseball shaped escort cards. The guests sat at the guest of honor’s favorite players tables. We filled Pepsi crates (very baseball like-right?) with sod and placed the escort cards in the grass. Then we scattered soft baseballs (could you imagine hard baseballs in the hotel???) & bats around on the table.
For the reception room, we went full on baseball! On the dancefloor we added vinyl decals to mimic an infield. The decals were created by the super talented Lauren Atwaters of Ten23 Designs. For the tables we went with lamour linens and placed some felt baseball toppers on top. Then we topped all of the tables with gorgeous florals placed in wooden containers, baseball mitts and baseball bats. The kids loved the mitts & the bats, but it was an obvious liability being in a hotel and with 70 thirteen year olds, we had to really keep a close eye on the party-goers.
Of course, no party is complete without a favor. The Bar Mitzvah boy decided to go with t-shirts with his favorite number printed on back, ironically, the number 13, and his name & date on the front!
